Meredith
Lasher, President, Producer and Founding Member
Meredith is a professional actor, producer and costume
designer who has worked extensively throughout the South Florida
theatre community. She was recently honored by the Carbonell Awards
Committee with the Bill Hindman Award - a career achievement award
for innovative and pioneering contributions to the South Florida
theatre community.
With The Women’s Theatre Project, Meredith has Produced and
Costume Designed the premieres of: THE ANASTASIA TRIALS IN THE COURT
OF WOMEN, NECESSARY TARGETS, HOLD PLEASE, IF WE ARE WOMEN, BOLD
GIRLS, 6 WOMEN PLAYWRIGHTS TURNING 60 IN 2006, DANCING THE GOD, and
MEMORY HOUSE. Meredith has been nominated for 3 Curtain Up
Awards and won the Award for Costume Design for BLOOD BROTHERS at
Shores Performing Arts Theatre.
Meredith served as the Vice President of Research and
Operations for a retained executive search firm before joining
Miami-Dade College North Campus as their Costume Designer/Theatre
Production Coordinator. She was also the Resident Costume Designer
for: Mosaic Theatre, Shores Performing Arts Theatre, Hollywood
Playhouse and the Public Theatre of South Florida. Meredith serves
on the Board of Directors for the Theatre League of South Florida
and actively participates on that organization’s Producer’s Forum.
She is a Founding Member, Producer and President of The Women’s
Theatre Project.

Genie Croft,
Artistic Director
Genie recently
directed the Southeastern Premiere of MEMORY HOUSE and the world
premiere of 6 WOMEN PLAYWRIGHTS TURNING 60 in 06. Additionally she
has directed DANCING THE GOD, BOLD GIRLS, IF WE ARE WOMEN, HOLD
PLEASE, NECESSARY TARGETS, and THE ANASTASIA TRIALS IN THE COURT OF
WOMEN - all of these for TWTP and all of them Southeastern
premieres. Other recent directing credits include ROMANCE IN D,
MIXED EMOTIONS, THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE, JERRY'S GIRLS,
MUSICAL MOMENTS-FROM PAGE TO STAGE, SYLVIA, LEND ME A TENOR, THE
LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO, and THE FOREIGNER. Genie has originated and
directed numerous thematically staged readings for TWTP including
the recent NAKED WOMEN FULLY CLOTHED, IT’S ALL IN THE ATTITUDE! and
LYSISTRATA as part of a global reading. Genie has directed over 200
plays on several Florida stages including Broward Center for the
Performing Arts, Parker Playhouse, Bailey Hall, The Museum of Art,
and Broward Stage Door. Genie was also the founder and artistic
director of The Plantation Players, Fort Lauderdale Theatre Co, and
Theatre Co. of Plantation. Presently she is the Artistic Director of
TWTP, and also serves on the board. Her performance credits include
stage roles, industrial films, modeling-promotional work, and
television appearances. Genie is on the Curtain Up Awards committee
as well as one of the emcees. She is also the 2004 recipient of the
Wilks Award for significant contributions by women in professional
theatre.
