Welcome Note

Welcome to the Letters from the Heart, a source of inspiration, a sacred place where you can sip your favorite tea, and feel comforted along the way.  We trust that all of us have our bridges to cross before we can touch the rainbow on the other side. It’s our collective voice calling, “I have lived through this,” that enables us to receive the rapture of joy.  I carry my wisdom within my heart to share with you.  Enjoy.

Warmest Regards, Lisa R. Delman

Quotes by Lisa R. Delman

“Mother is the first relationship that connects us to earth and greatly influences the compass of our lives.  It is the key to unlocking the female voice and the strength of a woman.”

“What is it to know and feel love as you have always known it? What is love?

It is the eternal, divine space between and within everything—the miracle within all of us.  To know it is to feel infinite wholeness.  To define it is to limit its essence.

To capture a glimpse of it is to fully breathe in the emotions of life.”

“What truly gives us the most freedom in our lives is the willingness to work through our wounds instead of dwelling on them, to prevail victorious beyond our circumstances, and to employ all of our challenges to better ourselves.  Resolution gives us the chance to truly begin anew, reconnecting to our joyous hearts once again.”

“What I know is that we’re all profoundly connected to one another and traveling to the same destination.  As my mother’s near-death experience reminded me, within the flicker of life and death lie our most valuable moments.  What we do with these fragile moments of time is pivotal to the direction of our voyage.”

“When we succumb to negativity, there’s no difference between the imprisonment of our souls and the physical bars of prison.  Wisdom comes from knowing that we can break away from what others think and discover the best part of ourselves.”

“As we learn to embrace our shadows as part of our light, we can move in and out of our emotions more gracefully.  Like an exquisite tapestry, we can see how the threads of our negative and positive emotions play a vital role in awakening the best part of ourselves.”

“Writing just one letter to your mother will guide you to open your heart fully, release pent-up emotion, and produce a transformation in yourself, therefore the world.”

“Unconditional forgiveness and love does not necessarily mean unconditional acceptance of others, but the release of the burden from ourselves.”

“Beyond liberation, the blessings of forgiveness lie in our very souls.  Letting go ignites the compassion within us and helps us see the humanity in others.”

“We’ve been told that “time heals all.”  Yet time doesn’t heal unless we choose to let it heal us through grieving.  If we deny and fight the process, we become stuck in the agony of the past.  Beneath the grief are the treasured emotions of the heart; therefore, it’s essential that we let each emotion blossom fully.”

“We can’t erase our agonizing mistakes, yet we all deserve to forgive ourselves and begin again.  If we concentrate on making things better in the moment, we can be eternally grateful for another opportunity to live our lives in healthier, more fulfilling ways.”

“The more we are committed to work through our fears, the more insightful and peaceful we will become.  For every time your own heart lightens up, there is a positive effect in the world and you can see the light in others.”

“May you make it a priority to tend to unresolved matters and discover the purpose of compassion, peace, and love throughout your life.”

“Like an exquisite tapestry, we can see how the threads of our negative and positive emotions play a vital role in awakening the best part of ourselves.”

“Learning to articulate our innermost feelings is an ongoing process that takes patience, courage, and tenderness.”

“We can reach a level of appreciation through letting go of our anguish.  After all, who we are---as girls, daughters, and women is greatly shaped by our relationships with our mothers.  Our level of gratefulness depends on the foundation we had with our mothers; the awakening of our selves depends on it, too, and so does our renewal of life.”

“Using letter writing to explore our feelings toward “mother’ initiates a heartfelt journey-one—one that leads to connection, gratitude, and emotional closure in the most primal relationship we have.”

“If we empty our vessels of resentment, we once again are able to receive the gifts of our mothers.”

“Allowing ourselves our first step in awakening ourselves to new possibilities, many of us eagerly search for answers to our unanswered questions.”

“We trust that all of us have our bridges to cross before we can touch the rainbow on the other side.  It’s our collective voice of sorrow sweetly calling,

“I have lived through this,” that enables us to receive the rapture of joy.”

“Our society pressures us about our skin color, sexuality, religion, appearance, and inability to measure up to the expectations of others.  When we succumb to this negativity, there’s no difference between the imprisonment of our souls and the physical bars of prison.  Wisdom comes from knowing that we can break away from what others think and discover the best part of ourselves.”

“We can’t erase the families we are born into or control what others think of us.  But we do have the ability to remove the veil and unleash the shattered images of ourselves.

We realize that our heart-to-heart connection surpasses race, sexuality, or religion.  It’s the resolving of our differences that helps us restore wholeness within.”

“You must go through the complexity of a situation to receive the gems of simplicity.”
