LISA R. DELMAN, MA
Author,
Marketer, Speaker
Lisa@TheHeartProject.com
Lisa R.
Delman is founder of the international Letters From The Heart
Project and author of Dear Mom, I’ve Always Wanted You to
Know: Daughters Share Letters from the Heart (Penguin,
2005).
This book
was born out of Lisa’s cathartic letter-writing experience after
her mother suffered a near-fatal heart attack. She felt
compelled to create a sacred online space and invited women to
express their deepest emotions to their mothers (alive or passed
on) via letter writing.
Women
cared. Diverse women from around the world sent her more than
1,500 letters. These letter-writers conveyed the feelings,
struggles, and victories of everyday living, the complexities of
the daughter-mother relationship, and the rawness of humanity
that intricately connects us. They showed the need for the
Letters From The Heart Project and its mission—to emphasize the
importance of expressing our feelings so we can bring more value
to our lives.
Lisa
passionately connects hearts through her speaking engagements,
brand and team building, media engagements, and other
happenings. That includes creating the Dear Mom play based on
her book, Dear Mom. It is in workshop production with the
Women’s Theater Project, http://www.womenstheatreproject.com.
What began as simple letters written from Lisa’s heart has
blossomed into a multi-organization endeavor to reach women all
over the world.
The Letters
from the Heart Project has received national media attention
from radio stations, newspapers, magazines, and TV. They include
the Hallmark Channel, Leeza Gibbons Show, Ask Heloise Show,
Channel 6 NBC, NBC TV affiliate Been There Done That, Telemundo
TV, Today’s Family Today TV, Miami Herald, Palm Beach Post,
Palm Beach Illustrated, Catholic Explorer, NY Daily News,
and National Examiner.
She has spoken on panels at the Miami
Book Fair, Inspirations…A Women’s Event held by Mommy Mentors &
Gilda’s Club, Wise Women’s Weekend, Inspiring Women’s Success
Conference, Women’s Balance Event, and ABWA chapter event. She
also leads her own heart-shops.
Lisa comes
to this project with a master’s of arts degree in organizational
design and effectiveness, and a bachelor’s of science in
advertising. Working in corporate sales and marketing for 15
years, her efforts helped increase revenues tenfold. Currently,
she’s teaching liberal arts courses an adjunct professor at
University of Phoenix.
Known for
using her communication and marketing skills to create goodwill
and profitability in all her endeavors, Lisa brings a wealth of
experience to this Dear Daughter book and project.
She is collaborating with Robyn Freeman Spizman to
invite mothers all over the world to write letters to their
daughters. Lisa & Robyn believe that capturing the deepest thoughts,
feelings, and reflections from mother to daughter will become an
irreplaceable present that will be treasured forever.
